The Accidental Picture
Last Thursday, I was sitting at my desk working and Wyatt grabbed my camera off the side part of the desk. I didn't realize it until I saw a few flashes and looked back. There he was just taking pictures of the floor and his feet. I loved this picture. I could never get a picture like that at that angle. Thank goodness for the accidental picture!

Wyatt vs. The Dogs
That boy cracks me up. That's all I need to say...

Wyatt's School Picture - Mothers Day Out
Afternoon Fun with the Water Hose
It's been so hot here lately - mid to high 90's all week. Needless to say, the flowers and the yard needed water. The problem is the wind has been gusting 25 - 30 mph too so the idea of using the sprinkler seemed pointless. As a result Wyatt and I decided to hand water the flowers and front yard grass yesterday. Wyatt was cracking me up. I had to move the hose around in circles to avoid spraying him. He would follow the water like he was hypnotized. Linda (next door neighbor) came home and we were chatting while I was watering. Well, as you can guess when I looked away for a second Wyatt was right in the path of the water and completely soaked. Then the game was on. We laughed and laughed watching/listening to him play/squeal in the water. Brandon took some pictures for me. I forgot to tell him to get my face too! haha

Wyatt and the Scarf
Mommy's Birthday
Friday, May 16th was my birthday. David was traveling last week, Nashville, TN, Jacksonville, FL and South Plainfield, NJ, so he came home Friday afternoon. Wyatt and I went to pick him up so that was a treat to have him back home. We went to TGI Friday's for a drink and appetizers then went over to the mall for my birthday present. I had asked for family pictures so that was David's plan. It was a surprise to me. I didn't have my lipstick and the next appointment wasn't for 2 hours so we decided to make an appointment for another day. Then, we headed down to Brighton where David and Wyatt bought me a beautiful watch. I LOVE IT! After that, we came home and spent the rest of the day together. Kelsey (Wyatt's babysitter and next door neighbor) was also celebrating her birthday (she's 14) so we went over there to exchange gifts and see her party decorations. She had a slumber party. The weather was beautiful so we all ended up sitting outside.
Saturday, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Paul hosted the annual birthday / pool opening party for me. It was great fun. Attendees included: Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Paul, my Dad, Grampa, Dorris, Karrie and her son Lane, Renee and her fiance Adam, David, Wyatt and I. Our friend Ronnee and her boyfriend Bill stopped by later in the evening. It was alot of fun and great to see my friends that I haven't seen in a while. The pool was heated so it was not too cold and the weather was in the mid 80's. Here is Wyatt swimming in his floaty.

Dad came over and spent the night with us so we all hung out back at home until bedtime. We were all tired from the big day.
Sunday, David cooked us a wonderful breakfast and we visited until Dad left for home in East Texas. In the afternoon, we went next door for Kelsey's confirmation party. Here is a picture of Wyatt and I enjoying the party.

Mother's Day Out - Petting Zoo
They had a petting zoo at Mother's Day Out on Tuesday. I didn't go because I had a doctor's appointment and Wyatt has been really clingy lately when I drop him off and pick him up. I was afraid he would just want me to take him home if I showed up. Anyway, Pam, his teacher, said he loved it. He rode the pony and had a great time. She said the only thing he was wary of was the turkey because it gobbled at him...that cracks me up. I can only imagine...haha. Here is the picture they took of him with a little goat.

A Walk to the Mailbox
It was so pretty outside, I thought I'd take my camera on our walk to the mailbox. We have a community mailbox about 3 houses down. Wyatt loves to walk down there, play with the lock, and open the mailbox. It is a lovely day today, sunny and in the 80's. Here are a couple of pictures I took on our little walk - one in front of our house and one in front of our next door neighbor's (and friends) house.

He had to stop and smell the flowers!

Mother's Day Out - Tea
Wyatt goes to Mother's Day out on Tuesdays and Thursdays which gives me much needed time to work. Yesterday, they had a Mother's Day Tea for all of the mothers. It was so adorable!
They had hot tea in different flavors, scones and cookies. They made clay pots with flowers made out of napkins that were painted and cut from Wyatt's handprints. They also gave me a laminated sheet with Wyatt's hand print made into a flower and a lovely poem. What a treat!
Here are some pictures of the party. I forgot to ask someone to take our picture together.

Hokey Pokey
I can't quit cracking up! Wyatt has Hokey Pokey Elmo that he got from Santa. He's always loved him and tried a little to do the Hokey Pokey (an arm in and out) but never the entire song. Well, tonight he can officially do the Hokey Pokey! Here we were in the living room doing the Hokey Pokey and there were no witnesses! I was cracking up. He can put his arm in, put his arm out, put his arm in and shake it all about. For Elmo doing the Hokey Pokey is just turning himself around and Wyatt loved that part! It was an "a-ha" moment where he knew to just turn himself around. How fast they go from a little baby to an understanding, thinking little person.

Here's a picture but it doesn't do it justice. Once I grabbed the camera, his heart wasn't in it like before...

Twin Cousins Birthday Party
We had a fun weekend. Friday night we took the RV (5th wheel) up to Lighthouse RV Resort in Melissa, TX. The name of this RV park is very misleading as it is just a convenient place to stay because we have family in McKinney and Melissa, TX. It's an average RV park but we wouldn't stay there to relax/have fun.
Friday night cousin Carrie and her daughters Caroline and Olivia came over to visit. Carrie and Jason lived close to us when we first moved to Fort Worth and we saw each other at least 3 to 4 times a week. Now they are living in Melissa because Jason is the City Manager. We don't get to see them as often as we would like so it was great to see Carrie and the girls. Jason was on a business trip up to Washington D.C. Caroline is 2 1/2 and Wyatt really enjoyed playing with her.
Saturday we went to Scott and Sara's for Ben and Madelynn's (our nephew and niece and Wyatt's cousins) 3rd birthday party. We went early and got to spend quality time with the family before the large party started. Wyatt loved the bounce house and swing set the best.
It was great to spend some time with the family. Due to the distance, we don't see everyone as often as we would like.
Sunday, we headed home early - unloaded, unpacked, did laundry and yardwork and finally relaxed.

Mr Independent?
I think Wyatt is conflicted these days as to how independent he is/wants to be.
Example: On the way to Mother's Day Out, I park pretty far out so we can walk along the sidewalk to the door and enjoy the flowers. He walks the entire way holding my hand with no problem. We arrive at the door and he helps get it open. Once we are inside, he lets go of me and walks as fast as he can to the door to his classroom. While I'm signing him in on the dutch door, he's frantically trying to get the door open. Once we open the door, he takes 5 steps inside and turns right around and comes back to me when he realizes I'm about to leave. Then he cries for about 10 seconds until I'm out of sight. Funny boy. Some days he waves and blows kisses and some days he cries. He loves "school" though and I enjoy the time to get work done. So, I'm sure he'll work it out. It is so fun to go pick him up though. He sees me, throws his arms up for balance and walks so fast squealing he's almost running. That is the greatest gift! :-)
